Once I decided to join the MBA program at the University of Mississippi, I tried to dive into the culture that surrounded Oxford. Using my previous network, I reached out to former Ole Miss Alumni Association President, Dr. Hal Moore, where he exposed me to a variety of job opportunities on campus. Recently, I started working at the Inn at Ole Miss, where I serve as the Front Desk Student Coordinator. I am an active participant in all of the events that are organized through the MBA organization and its coordinator, Mrs. Lila Neely.
Aside from work and school, I did my best to connect with my community and the city of Hattiesburg. I rushed in the fall of 2015 and joined Sigma Nu. I try to live my life every day with my actions committed to representing its values of love, truth, and honor. I boasted a hefty .650 softball batting average with 2 HR and 43 RBIs, a couple of touchdowns in flag football, and a triple-double in basketball for intramural sports. I was an active participant in events around campus, including homecoming festivities, sporting events, the Student Government Association, and many more.
In Hattiesburg, I helped elect Mayor Toby Barker to oust the incumbent in his campaign process and have supported the building of new infrastructure around the university (Midtown). While in Hattiesburg, I volunteered every year for the Hattiesburg Crawfish Festival, public schools in and around Hattiesburg, and Abbie Rogers' Civitan Camp, a week-long program for individuals with mental and physical disabilities. Throughout my involvement in each of these affairs, I aim to leave a lasting impact that empowers positivity through every action that I commit.
